I am currently a student majoring in Animation and Rich Media at Des Moines Area Community College. I have a deep interest in 2-D and 3-D Character Animation, Character Design, and Storyboarding. My passion for animation began when I was just nine years old. I have always been fascinated by animated shows like Spongebob Squarepants, Adventure Time, and Gravity Falls, animated feature films such as Ratatouille, Kung Fu Panda, and Princess and the Frog, and Japanese animes like Attack on Titan, My Hero Academia, and Demon Slayer.
As I watched the bonus features on DVDs and Blu-rays of animated films, I realized that a career in animation was my true calling. My desire to draw and create animated characters has been a life-long pursuit, and DMACC has provided me with an opportunity to explore my abilities fully. At DMACC, I have had the chance to develop and create my own stories and characters and further enhance my artistic skills. After completing my studies, I plan to apply to a four-year art school to gain advanced knowledge of my craft and acquire new skills.
I am confident that the education and training I have receiving at DMACC will prepare me for a successful career in animation and help me achieve my goal.
