Hello!
My name is DJ Christensen. I am graduating from DMACC with my Associate of Applied Science in Photography. Through DMACC’s Photography pathway, I have learned basic and advanced knowledge in digital photography, commercial photography, portrait photography, photojournalism, and advanced editing processes. Combined with my Bachelor of Science in Business, I will use the skills gained over the past two years to open my studio and do freelance work.
During my time in this program, I also completed the Honors Program through DMACC. This program allowed me to delve deeper into each class taken and complete a passion project. During my photojournalism class, I completed my final assignment using images to tell a story, and for Honors, I wrote an article to accompany it. This project was subsequently published in UReCA: The NCHC Journal of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity, sponsored by the National Collegiate Honors Council, where I became the first DMACC student to ever be published in this journal. The publication can be found here: The Real Life of Big Brother’s Rodeo Clown.
